2025 Year in Review

2025 marked a year of intentional growth and renewed energy at High Road Gallery & Studios.

From strengthening our organizational foundation to expanding inclusive programming and deepening community partnerships, High Road continued to grow as both a historic landmark and a living cultural space in Worthington.

Organizational Growth & Leadership

  • Strengthened governance with updated bylaws and active board leadership.

  • Improved financial tracking and compliance practices with CPA oversight.

  • Completed key legal and foundational work to support long-term stability.

  • Clarified and strengthened our mission-driven messaging.

  • Installed a historic marker and a memorial plaque honoring founder Carol Hershey.

  • Initiated the process of pursuing state-level funding support.

  • Welcomed new resident artists, strengthening our creative community.

  • Expanded volunteer support for greeting, painting, and maintenance.

High Road continues to build a strong foundation for sustainable impact.

Artistic & Programmatic Highlights

  • Hosted three exhibition streams:

    • Resident Artist shows

    • Guest Artist exhibitions

    • Inclusive community-based exhibitions

  • Produced 8 themed exhibitions with receptions and artist talks.

  • Continued and strengthened our outdoor monthly series (Outside the Lines, now Art Off the Green), drawing families and first-time visitors.

  • Provided affordable studio space for 12 resident artists working across disciplines.

  • Maintained weekly open studios, fostering ongoing public engagement.

  • Hosted local musicians and expanded participation at community events.

  • Researched and planned our 2026 exhibition season.

    Inclusion & Community Impact

    • Deepened partnership with I Am Boundless, supporting neurodivergent artists through public exhibitions, sales opportunities, and community dialogue.

    • Launched Art Stories at The Hartford senior living community.

    • Expanded intergenerational programming through Collage & Conversation gatherings.

    • Strengthened relationships with local schools and civic organizations.

    • Hosted workshops including collage and hands-on art experiences.

    • Continued a strong focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

    Historic Preservation & Place-Based Identity

    • Proudly remain the oldest continuously operating art gallery in Worthington.

    • Continued stewardship of our 1818 historic home, completing critical repairs and improvements.

    • Completed infrastructure upgrades supporting accessibility and public events.

    • Strengthened our presence as a walkable cultural anchor in Worthington’s historic district.

    • Collaborated with the Worthington Historical Society on the America 250 exhibition.

      Visibility & Community Reach

    • Increased attendance and repeat visitors at events.

    • Resident artists participated in the Worthington Art Walk.

    • Grew our email list to over 2,200 subscribers.

    • Expanded social media presence to over 1,000 Instagram followers.

    • Developed new fundraising and partnership materials to support future growth.
